ipek burçak ↩️ In Berlin Nichts Neues Installation and (Forthcoming) Book, 2025
In Berlin Nichts Neues Nothing New in Berlin, consists of a public space installation at the U-bahn station Bülowstraße in Berlin and a forthcoming book. The work is a study on the independent magazines from the 1990s published by Turkish and Kurdish migrant groups in Berlin, as a response to the political climate of rising fascism, capitalism and racism in the aftermath of the collapse of GDR. While reading the histories of anti-racist, anti-capitalist, anti-fascist printmaking, the work highlights the similarities of texts, incidents, political actors and the state repression from the 90s with today.
